Veloteq e-bikes will outperform most electric scooters weighing twice as much and costing over twice as much and you don't need a license to ride them.  All Veloteq electric bicycles except the Cougar use a newly improved 500W gear reduction brushless DC motor powered by a deep cycle 48VDC power system, UL/cUL Listed SMART chargers and high power controllers. 

Batteries are robust 12V/14Ah or 20Ah maintenance free VRSL colloidal lead acid to prevent spillage and and are UL Listed. 

The Veloteq charging unit is a fan-cooled cUL Listed SMART Charger with automatic shutoff to protect the batteries.  Batteries are UL component listed for added safety.  Automatic cruise control is standard on all models.  Tires are specially made by CST, a world renowned tire manufacturer famous for the Maxxis and some TOYO brands.

Veloteq Motor Assisted Cycles are compliant with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act regulations and are labeled Power Assisted Bicycles for easy recognition by local authorities.  All 2007 models use motorcycle drum brakes insure stopping power while riding downhill as well as on level ground. 

All models include fully automatic cruise control, rear view mirrors, cargo box, underseat storage and backlit instrument panel with speedometer and odometer.  The Scooteralert anti-theft alarm system is included on all 2008 models. All models feature locking steering columns to discourage theft. Mirrors are fully adjustable for operator convenience.

60% of the non-metal parts on Veloteqs are constructed of high impact polypropolene.  Body fairings are constructed of extra thick automotive grade ABS.  All Veloteq ebikes feature a virtually scratch-proof baked enamel finish.  No waxing is required.
